Marinated Grilled Chicken with caramelized Onions

So I had this chicken at our ladies dinner last night and goodness! It was amazing. I love anything and almost everything smothered in barbecue sauce! And caramelized onions? You just can’t go wrong. A few of our ladies went all out and put on a beautiful dinner for the married women at church and since I’m very happily married, I was there, enjoying every minute and bite. Below are a few pictures from the night and the recipe for this delicious, flavorful chicken.

Appetizers! Stuffed mushrooms, shrimp, cheeseball, and olives. So good!

Before the dinner ever started, I had downed two glasses of this punch. It was the perfect blend of sweet and sour and fizz. And obviously hit the spot and quenched my thirst.

Oh, and a gourmet salad to start the evening off right.

Stir-fry veggies! So colorful and perfectly scrumptious.

Sharon gave me permission to list her secret spices here that made it absolutely fabulous. Fried in coconut oil, Brags liquid, raw garlic minced, salt, sesame oil, Nutritional yeast flakes, ginger, and parsley flakes. I thought the yeast flakes were such a good idea! I know they are healthy but never know what to put them in so I was so glad for this tip!

Brown rice!

Now, lets talk about the sweet stuff! Charlene made 3 (no actually 4, but she didn’t bring the peppermint cheesecake, I’m still waiting for it!) Trim Healthy Mama desserts.

These turtle bars looked out of this world amazing but I didn’t even get to try them. What a shame.

This Strawberry Dream Dessert was a hit! So refreshing. (You can find the recipe in the THM section!)

Lastly, her famous Chocolate Hazelnut Pie was truly addicting. So creamy and rich and everything I imagined it would be. (recipe also found in the THM section!)

This is what we do for fun and relaxing and relapsing activities around here… a coloring contest! I thought it was genius idea. Anna’s (4th in from the top left) was winner. Mine was just ordinary so I won’t point it out. =) Haha.

And then to my favorite part (after the food of course!) was pictionary. I love games. And I love winning games but I also love some good competition and we had all of that. Two teams with two different white boards, both drawing the same picture and seeing who’s team could guess it first. I had so much fun that by the end of the night my throat was sore. But it was worth it. Completely.
