Coates Granola Recipe

I stumbled across the Coates Granola recipe a few months ago and have been loving it ever since. With only eight ingredients, it can be mixed together in a matter of minutes! The crunch of the nuts and sweetness of the maple syrup make it exceptionally delicious. This is the last granola recipe you will ever need.

Meet Gretta’s dear mother, Mrs. Joy Coates.

I don’t know Mrs. Coates very well but I do know a few of her beautiful daughters and have come to the conclusion she must be nearly angelic. Her life is graced with tenderness and radiates of sweetness. Knowing a bit of her story, I realize that she has walked through many painful valleys that many of us know nothing about…but through it all, she has allowed the difficult circumstances to make her more like Jesus. She smiles in spite of pain and loss. I love that we share the same name and I pray that I can have the Joy of the Lord in my life like I see expressed in hers.

I feel so honored to share this incredible recipe with you and I’m confident you will enjoy it as much as I have.

Let’s learn together from the baker herself. =)

Start by collecting your ingredients.

Measure 6 cupsΒ rolled oats into a medium size mixing bowl.

Coarsely crumble pecans with your hands and add to oats along with the almonds.

Smile because you are making something delicious tasting!

A little sprinkling of salt…

A few splashes of oil…

A dash of vanilla and a generous amount of maple syrup…

Mix well.

Spread evenly between two baking sheets…bake until reaches golden perfection! Remove from oven and allow to cool on pans before transferring to airtight container.

Try not to eat it all at once!

Serve with plain yogurt and your choice of fresh fruit. Absolutely healthy and delicious!

Coates Granola

  • Servings: 10 cups
  • Time: 45 min
  • Difficulty: easy
  • Print
  • 6 cups oats
  • 3/4 cups slivered almonds
  • 3/4 cups sliced almonds
  • 1 1/2 cups pecans (crumble into small pieces in your hand for best results)
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 3/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
Mix together and spread batch evenly between two greased baking sheets.
Bake at 325 for 30 minutes.
