Granola Bars {THM}

Since we love granola bars around here we decided to give you a healthy version too. Thanks to Charlene for this Trim Healthy Mama recipe! I love pumpkin seeds and they are especially fitting for this time of the year.

I’m going through the book “One Thousand Gifts” by Ann Voskamp.

I’ve been thinking especially much about Worship lately….well, I guess ever since our last sisters meeting at church where we all took a card and answered the question on it. The question I got was, “What does Worship mean to you?” My mind automatically went to nature because you can’t help but Worship our Creator when you see a beautiful sunset or the changing of the leaves. I believe Worship is when my heart rises in adoration to God, in giving of thanks. I often find my heart Worshiping as I sing to the Lord, but you can also be singing words without truly worshipping. It is a state of the heart.
I believe that true Worship is something that happens all day long, everyday.
I also believe that Worship happens in our lowest moments. Our weakest times. Because when we see how truly frail we are…how easily we fail…we realize how Sovereign and Holy God is and our hearts are humbled that we can Worship Him.
May you find Joy in the little things today and Worship our Creator who made them…and if at all possible, ask your husband to babysit this evening and take a walk around the block. The fresh air is good for the soul and clears the brain.

Granola Bars {THM}

  • Servings: 9x13 pan
  • Difficulty: easy
  • Print
1 cup chopped pecans
1 cup sprouted oats
1 cup coconut
1 cup sprouted raw pumpkin seeds
Preheat oven to 400º. Toast above ingredients on cookie sheet until turning golden.
Place in bowl and add:
1 cup coconut oil
1/2 cup peanut butter
1 tbsp vanilla
1/4 tsp maple flavoring
1/2 cup sweetener
3/4 tsp super sweet
9 ounces chocolate
3 tbsp coconut oil (or butter)
Melt chocolate on low, stirring until melted. Spread over bars. Refrigerate until chocolate sets.
Cut into bars and individually wrap.
