To the mom with a new baby

STOP! Are you a mom? Are you a woman? If you answered no to one of these two questions or if you are my brother-in-law (wink) please re-consider the title and go no further. Or if words concerning breast feeding gross you out- this might not be the blog post for you since its not your typical food article.  Continue reading “To the mom with a new baby”

Confessions from a distracted Mom

The wake-up call came when my son kept bringing me my phone. I started to wonder, “Man, doesn’t he think I can live without this thing?” Most likely he was just trying to be helpful but it made me stop and think and I realized its about time to hit the reset button on this whole electronic thing. Pumpkin-Apple-Pear Soup

img_2128

From the kitchen of Joanna (Marini) Dindinger: “This is a delicious, healthy soup I love in the Fall, especially, as a main dish with crusty bread and salad, or as an elegant first course before a roast chicken with potatoes, perhaps.”

Savor the flavor of fall!

Today I have another great recipe to share with you from a friend! Joanna is known to be a really great cook and baker. (I think she’s naturally good at about anything she tries!=)) I recently ordered some of her homemade soaps and have been loving them!

But, what do you make when you’ve got nothing planned? Thats when this handy-dandy “White Chicken Chili” hits the spot! Continue reading “White Chicken Chili {and a little about friendships}”

Janelle’s Barbecued Ribs

IMG_2090

My lovely sister Janelle is famous in these parts for her ribs. Actually, not her ribs but rather the pig’s ribs that she barbecues. Cooked to perfection, they are the perfect combination of both tender and chewy. Overcooked ribs will completely fall off the bone, you don’t exactly want that even though it sounds nice.
